Patients and Medical Perception through the Home Care in Jakarta (Persepsi Kalangan Medis dan Pasien terhadap Kesehatan Rawat Rumah (Home Care) di Jakarta)

Home care is a type of health service conducted by a team of medical profession to patients at their home. Home care has several advantages, namely it is a low-cost health service, time effective and it decreases the psychological burdens of the patients because of supports given by the family members. A descriptive study to obtain an information on HOME CARE concept was conducted in Jakarta from November 1995 through Januari 1996. This Study included 206 respondents comprised of 104 medical profession and 102 sick patients. Questionnaires were given to the respondents and the data collected were analysized using Chi-square and Spearman correlation tests. Results shows that regardless of the age, education level, and occupation, all respondents agreed upon the concept of a Home care. There is no correlation between hospital admission of the patients with the home care concept, however, 'price' and 'place' shows correlation with the concept.
