The aim of this study is to find out several factors (protein intake, ascorbic acid, Fe, and parity) that affected haemoglobin (Hb) contents of pregnant women and the effect of haemoglobin contents on the baby birth weight. Forty five women with seven months pregnancy or more were selected purposively in Central Bogor Public Health Center in October 1995. Results of the study showed that the average protein intake, ascorbic acid and Fe of the respondents were under the requirement standard. The increase of Hb contents improved the baby birth weight. Although 13.3 percent of respondents were anemia, 22.2 percent of respondents had babies with low birth weight.
