Study of the Mechanism of Interaction between Health and Agricultural Sectors in Bandung, West Java (Studi Mekanisme Interaksi antara Sektor Pertanian dan Kesehatan di Kabupaten Bandung, Jawa Barat)

The importance result of the first year study revealed that the mechanism of interaction between health and agricultural sectors is relatively weak at various administration levels; the existing of Local Nutrition Improvement Board (BPGD) at province and district levels is not well functioned in term of mechanism of coordination. Those result have been used to underline the importance of doing a pilot study in the area of Bandung District. A one-week training activity has been conducted in Cimahi, i.e on planning of solving food and nutrition problems at two Sub-District areas, namely Cililin and Cipongkor. There were 20 participants of 10 district sectors attending the training. Those sectors were: Food Crop, Husbandry, Fishery, Social, Sub-Dolog, Economic section at local goverment (Pemda), Health, Social Section at local goverment, Labour, and Bappeda. The course meterials discussed during the training period were factors influencing food and nutrition problems, food and nutrition system, desirable dietary pattern (Pola Pangan Harapan), food balance sheet, Nutrition extension, format of proposal on planning to solve food and nutrition problems comprehensively in Sub-District Cililin and Cipongkor in the Bandung District. The output of the whole training activities is a formal document of written proposal done by the participants to plan an intergrated action to overcome food and nutrition problems at two Sub-District area.
