Cervical Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion : Cytogenetical Character (Lesi Intraepitel Skuamosa Serviks : Perangai Sitogenetik : Laporan Pendahuluan)

Objective: To evaluate cytogenetic character of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesion. Setting: Colposcopy Clinic and Cytogenetic Division of The Research Center for Medical Science Technology University of Indonesia. Material and methods: Patients whose cytology results showed squamous intraepithelial lesions went to have biopsies for histology and tissue culture during colposcopy examination. Design of this investigation was prospective, descriptive study from May 1, 1993 until July 31, 1993. Results: During study period there were 10 cases of low grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LG-SIL-). A case of low grade SIL histologically had a diagnostic discrepancy with its cytologic and colposcopic results which show high grade SIL in two particular examinations. There were only 4 cultures which growed and showed diploidy appearance of totally 46 x chromosomes.
