Inadequate Surgery in Ovarium Cancer Patient (Terapi Pembedahan yang Inadekuat pada Penderita Kanker Ovarium)
Objective: to identify the influences of inadequate surgery in the survival of patients with ovarian cancer. Design/data identification: retrospective, 7 years, from 1980 until 1986, and follow up of minimal 5 years. Study selection: histopathology, the surgery was adequate or not, and survival rate. Subject, patients, participants: 236 cases of ovarian cancer, 210 (88.98 percent) cases can be evaluated. Result: Survival rate in inadequate surgical group was 40/106 (37.73 percent) with details in stage 1 15/22 (68.18 percent), stage II 1/2 (50 percent), stage III 24/55 (43.63 percent), stage IV 0 (0 percent). Survival rate indequate in surgical group with adjuvant chemotherapy with radiation was 46.42 percent, the survival rate can be increased by adjuvant therapy. Conclusion: Five years of survival rate on the patient with ovarian cancer can be increased adjuvant therapy.
