The Clinical Presentation of Falciparum Malaria on Child in Liun Kendage-Tahuna Hospital (Presentasi Klinis Malaria falciparum pada Anak di RSU Liun Kendage-Tahuna)
Falciparum malaria in infants and children is still a clinical problem, due to its clinical picture vaires gratly. A descriptive study was conducted for finding out the clinical picture of falciparum malaria in outpatient clinic at Liun Kendage District General Hospital during April 1 - December 31, 1994. The samples were randomly selected. Out of 102 children with falciparum malaria, There were 50 (49.0 percent) male and 52 (51.0 percent) female. The highest incidence was occured in children of 2-5 years old. The most prominent symptoms were fever (95.1 precent) and loss of appetide (72.5 percent); the mean body temperature was 38.37 degrees Celcius. Most of the children (51.9 percent) were well nourished.
