The Effect of Aluminium Filter on the Measure of (KVP) and Dose of X-Ray Diagnostic from (Pengaruh Filter Aluminium pada Tegangan Puncak (KVP) dan Dosis Sinar X Diagnostik dari Pesawat Tanka RTO-125)
Study on the effects of aluminium (Al) filter on the measured peak-voltage (kVp) and dose of X-ray diagnostic has been carried out in the Center for Standardization and Radiation Safety Research (PSPKR), Batan, Diagnostic X-ray machine Tanka Model RTO-125 was used in this experiment. Aluminium (Al) filter having high purity of 99.2 percent made in Nilaco, Japan, was used. Peak-voltage (kVp) was measured using digital (kVp) was measured using digital kVp meter III, Victoren, USA. X-ray dose was measured using ionization chamber detector (Aloka, Japan) having an air volume of 40 cc. Experimental results show that the use of 2 mm Al filter in creases measured peak-voltage less than or equal to 1 percent; Absorbs 40 percent of X-ray intensity; and decreases phantom (patient) entrance dose up to 17 percent.
