Determination of Calibration Factor of Cs-137 with Interpolative Method (Penentuan Faktor Kalibrasi Berkas Pesawat Terapi Cs-137 dengan Metoda Interpolasi)
As a recognized Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) under IAEA coordination, National Calibration Facility of BATAN, also known as SSDL Jakarta, has been equipped with NPL dosimeter system for secondary standard therapy level together with Co-60 and X-ray therapy machines. The dosimeter system is calibrated periodicaly by the Primary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (PSDL). So far the Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL), PSDL of Japan, where NPL dosimeter was calibrated, provides exposure calibration factor (Nx) for NPL dosimeter in the range photon energies from 50 kV until Co-60 beams, but without Cs-137 beams. Calibration factor of Cs-137 beams was obtained by applying a linear interpolation method corrected for attenuation originated from wall and build-up cap detector. Equations to be used to calctlate calibration factor of Cs-137 beams for several radiotherapy ionization chamber are presented in this paper.
