Survival Analysis on Cervix Cancer in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (Survival Analysis pada Kanker Serviks di Rumah Sakit Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Jakarta)
Cervix cancer has been highest prevalence and the highest number gynecologic patients in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). Study to explore survival of the cervix cancer using survival analysis was very scant, and no such study was conducted in RSCM. The objective of the study is to find 5 years survival probability on the cervix cancer patient and identify the factors. Study design is restropective cohort. Samples were all cervix cancer patients who were at RSCM in 1990. These patients were followed until 31 December 1995. Home visit were made for those who lived in Jakarta, and form mailed to those who lived outside Jakarta. Kaplan Meier analysis was used to determine of survival probability, Cox regression analysis was done determine the risk of health of cervix cancer patients. Total patients of cervix during 1990 were 262,49 were excluded to uncomplete records. The study showed that 5 years survival probability was 30 percent with median 934 days. Factors influencing survival were stage, complete therapy, Hb value before therapy, tumor size and education. There was no correlation between ages and survival. It was suggested to educate people that survival will go longer if the patient visit hospital/provider at the early stage and get complete therapy. In that case early detection of cancer need to be promoted.
