Ovarian tumors occur predominantly in women of the child bearing-age, mainly in their 3rd and 4th decades. In 1993, the Department of Pathology of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, Surabaya recorded 285 cases of ovarian tumors, and 199 (69.82 percent) of the cases occured in women of the childbearing age.
